By default, the web server serves up graphics from the "tmp" directory. If that directory doesn’t exist, it needs to be created. The user account that runs Pathway Tools needs to have read-write access to the "tmp" directory.

For Unix based platforms (ie Linux, OSX), the "tmp" directory is in /tmp.

For windows, the "tmp" directory gets mapped to "%APPDATA%\..\local\temp" directory. You can access it by typing this path into the Start "run prompt" (or any File explorer window location dialog).

This temp directory can be reassigned using the CWEST_TEMP environmental variable of the user running the Pathway Tools process.
